APIdays is a global tour covering six cities including Barcelona, Berlin, Moscow, Paris, San Francisco and Tokyo. The APIdays event is vendor-independent and genuinely wants to drive to API space forward, covering a wide range of topics including scalability, versioning, developer experience, testing, mobile, security and business models.
Here you can sign up and get a ticket for APIdays Mediterranea in Barcelona.
(If you are a 3scale customer, please get in touch with us directly — we have some free VIP tickets to give away.)
3scale will also considerably contribute to the event content-wise. Apart from a stand presence where you will always find 3scale staff to get answers, we will also deliver two talks. On the first day, we will give a talk as part of the business track about how APIs transform value chains into value networks. This talk will cover some aspects and benefits around platformization, API search and discoverability, and the importance of standards where we will also refer to our API Commons initiative.
On the second day, we will present more details about APItools in the technology track. APItools does specifically two things very well. First, it helps developers getting a better overview of integrated APIs as they are all collected and managed in one place. Second, APItools provides the possibility to modify API requests or responses. In essence, APItools is like a proxy where arbitrary modifications such as translating between data formats can be executed or where the granularity of an API can be changed. APItools provides a middleware mechanism to achieve this.
Finally, we will host some pre-event drinks on the Wednesday (May 28) evening from 7pm — 9pm in our 3scale offices (Carrer de Nàpols, 187/8, 08013 Barcelona, Spain).
Next to drinks you will be able to meet the speakers, mingle with other API enthusiasts and we will prepare the one or other demo. Please make sure to register for the pre-event drinks here. (N.B., you need to have a valid ticket for APIdays Mediterranea in order to attend this drink-up.)
