The Music Hack Day is actually a series of hackathons focused on music applications and integrations that covers various cities globally. The MHD is a “hacking session in which participants will conceptualize, create and present their projects. Music + software + mobile + hardware + art + the web. Anything goes as long as it’s music related.”
The Barcelona MHD is organised as part of the Sónar+D event within the Sónar 2014 festival (see video). Sónar+D is an international conference for creativity and technology, designed to promote talent and business opportunities in the digital culture environment and is held in in Fira Montjuïc.
Apart from a couple of 3scalers (Rai and Toni), who will participate as hackers, we will also provide and promote our customers APIs related to music (see box on the right).
To further support hackers for API integration we will provide our APItools for the Music Hack Day. APItools helps developers getting a better overview of integrated APIs as they are all collected and managed in one place. APItools also provides the possibility to modify API requests or responses. It acts like a proxy where arbitrary modifications such as translating between data formats can be executed. APItools will specifically be introduced in the MHD workshops on June 12, starting at 2pm (see MHD schedule).
Possibilities With Music APIs
Finally, we also have a talk about the benefits of APIs in general and the possibilities of music APIs specifically in the main track of the Sónar+D event.
Happy Hacking !
