Today we’re happy to announce that 3scale is now listed on the Oracle Marketplace as part of the Oracle Cloud offering. 3scale is also an Oracle Gold Level partner. You can find more info about the partnership in our partners section.
The Oracle Marketplace is an online store to find and immediately start using software and services that run in the Oracle Cloud. Customers already using Oracle Cloud products will appreciate the Oracle Marketplace as a complementary storefront for hundreds of business apps. All apps on the Oracle Marketplace, including the 3scale API Management app, have to pass rigoro…
Having worked in the API space for a long time, we’re used to APIs popping up in new places – and cloud computing has long been an obvious driver for API adoption. Still, the signs are clearer than ever as at Cloudbeat in San Francisco this week there were three main sessions on APIs and a myriad of mentions in others. The sessions all have nice writeups on Venture Beat – check them out:
- The API Economy: Jim Franklin, CEO, SendGrid, Jeff Lawson, Co-Founder and CEO, Twilio, Sam Schillace, SVP of Engineering, Box, Juan Benitez, CTO & SVP of Product, Braintree. Moderator: Byron Deeter, Partner, Bessemer Venture Partners
- APIs – The Key that Unlocks the Cloud Panel: John Wolpert, Leader of API Marketplace Enablement…
APIs are increasingly being recognized as one of the most important infrastructure trends for enterprises in the next few years as more companies seek to open up their internal systems to customers, partners and other third parties. The API Economy Session at EIC 2012 last week was a great snapshot of both he potential and the challenges involved in such a transformation.
Craig Burton (KuppingerCole) provided an an excellent overview of the opportunities of the API Economy and there were presentations and inputs from Fulup Ar Foll (KuppingerCole), Kim Cameron (Microsoft) and Martin Kuppinger (KuppingerCole). The day before Ping identity’s Andre Durand also highlighted Cloud APIs as one of the most important new frontiers for Identity in his keynote.

The increased usage of smartphones, tablets, and cloud computing is presenting organizations with new business opportunities and challenges. Companies worldwide in every industry are finding that they can expose new and existing data as Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to open up new markets and penetrate deeper into existing ones. By exposing info as machine-consumable APIs, organizations are transforming themselves into platforms that third-parties can build rich, mobile applications on top of. By implementing these APIs using cloud computing technologies, innovators are able to expose data in ways that scale elastically as the need arises. The multitenant, self-service nature of the cloud also allows data to be made available …
